Its so big. I love it. First time set up does take quite a bit, but thats to be expected. Aside from that, no issues whatsoever. The 4K quality is absolutely stunning. Comes woth 4 HDMI ports. For someone like me, thats perfect. All 4 ports are in use. Not to mention that the power cable isnt built in like some tv’s. This one comes unconnected from the tv and you have to plug it into a power outlet, extension cord, or power supply as well as into the tv. I like that a lot. Setting up is relatively easy. You gotta use a screw driver for the supports and they might be a tad difficult to get in, but aside from that, its great. Get the fire tv app though. It’ll make things even easier.

I have two of these TVs – the 43″ and a 50″. The 43″ I have on my kitchen table.

I was curious as to how this TV works as a computer monitor. I have an old Dell XPS 8900 from 2016 that I recently replaced as my main computer. But, the XPS still works well, so I thought I’d hook it up to the TV in the kitchen for some work from home tasks. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much given the age of the computer. I was NOT expecting 4K on the TV.

Lo and behold…WOW! The Series 4 works fantastic as a computer monitor! Incredibly, I get 4K – 3840 x 2160 at 60hz using a cheap $5 4K HDMI cable. And it’s beautiful!! Which makes this TV a superb value!! Text is very clear and crisp, even though it supposedly doesn’t do 4:4:4 chroma.

However, don’t use the PC picture mode. I am using Vivid, and it’s awesome. PC picture mode is dark and I just didn’t like it.

All I can say is that this really made the purchase worth it.

Picture quality for a TV is definitely good – for the price point, of course. And the fact that updates from Amazon is frequent, bugs should be fixed quite timely.

I have not had any problems with the batteries in the remote draining fast, or poor sound. Not sure why there’s so many of those complaints.

Again, great TV – for the price point, of course.

For a “budget” television, it’s well worth it!

The TV works just as you would expect, mounted it in the sleeper of a semi truck. I’ve driven roughly 8,000 miles so far and down some extreamly bumpy roads and for its price its pretty darn durable. I would not attempt to put a TV any larger than a 43in in the sleeper berth of a semi. I had less than inches on either side of this installment. Also had to drill through side of the truck for the TV mount.

The remote eats batteries, I’m assuming it’s because the microphone on it is constantly listening to us so it can create targeted ads lol.

The TV itself only has only one button on it which isn’t very easy to use, to the point it’s not even worth attempting to watch tv without finding the remote first which I’m constantly loosing in the back of my truck.

Would be 5 stars but I had to buy a Costco pack of triple A batteries

The Amazon Fire TV 50″ 4-Series 4K UHD Smart TV has truly redefined my entertainment experience, offering a seamless blend of cutting-edge technology and convenience. As a cord-cutter, I’ve been on the lookout for a TV that provides access to live TV streaming without the hassle of cable, and this TV has exceeded my expectations on all fronts.

First and foremost, the 4K UHD resolution on a spacious 50-inch screen is a treat for the eyes. The picture quality is sharp, vibrant, and incredibly immersive, allowing me to enjoy my favorite shows, movies, and even streaming content in breathtaking detail. Whether I’m catching up on the latest series or streaming my favorite films, the visual experience is nothing short of spectacular.

The integration of Amazon Fire TV directly into the smart TV eliminates the need for additional streaming devices. The user interface is intuitive, responsive, and user-friendly, making navigation a breeze. With a plethora of streaming apps available, from Netflix and Prime Video to Hulu and Disney+, I can access a world of content without switching devices.

One of the standout features of this TV is its ability to stream live TV without the need for cable. The integration of live TV apps and streaming services enables me to watch news, sports, and local broadcasts effortlessly. This feature not only saves money on cable subscriptions but also offers the flexibility to choose the content I want to watch, when I want to watch it.

The inclusion of a voice remote with Alexa compatibility is a game-changer. Simply using my voice, I can search for content, control playback, adjust volume, and even check the weather or control smart home devices. This level of convenience adds to the overall enjoyment of using the TV.

Setup was a breeze, and connecting the TV to my home Wi-Fi network was seamless. The TV’s user-friendly interface guided me through the initial setup process, ensuring that I was up and running in no time.

The connectivity options, including multiple HDMI ports and USB ports, provide ample room for connecting gaming consoles, soundbars, and other devices, enhancing the TV’s versatility.

In conclusion, the Amazon Fire TV 50″ 4-Series 4K UHD Smart TV is a game-changing addition to any entertainment setup. Its stunning picture quality, integrated streaming capabilities, live TV access, Alexa voice control, and seamless setup make it a standout choice for both cord-cutters and traditional TV enthusiasts alike. This TV has truly brought the cinema experience into my living room, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance and features.

This was the very first TV I have ever bought for myself and it is great. The picture on the TV is so good, the audio is great and I love that it’s an Amazon TV, I like that I can add my Amazon account on it so I can watch my Amazon shows and movies. The legs are easy to put on the TV, it is very lightweight, so I was able to put it on my desk by myself.

UPDATE ON MY PREVIOUS REVIEW : this tv gets a 5 star due to my ignorance of the many picture choices in the settings, I’m 70 years old ( no excuse) just not up on new technology , a younger friend of mine came over and immediately went to SETTINGS , he showed me how it was set on ENERGY SAVING From the factory ( which gives you the lowest quality picture ) , the other settings are VIVID, SPORTS,MOVIES , And DARK MOVIES . He set it on SPORTS ( I was watching a football game at the time , so after the game I just left it on sports and WOW what a great sharp picture !!! So it was my bad for not keeping up with the new times , but setup to the tv still took a long time , about 20 minutes of searching , loading and updating, it went through these same cycles 3 times before it was ready to watch , but with that all said at the end it gets a 5 star from me ,, ENJOY

The 55″ smart TV for a little over $300 (was on sale at the time) was delivered almost immediately. Was easy to assemble the “feet” and was already configured to connect to my network. It integrated my Recast almost instantly, without being prompted and was also easy to connect to an Echo Studio for “surround sound”. Well, not quite with just one of them, even with ATMOS content, but it beats the built-in speakers.

Speaking of the Echo Studio, you lose the on-screen volume indicator and apparently can’t hold the volume buttons down, as you can when using the TV speakers. The former is irritating and the latter is just plain silly for such an expensive add-on.

      UPDATE:

Added a second Studio and subwoofer and they were also easy to connect to the TV. Now it does surround sound about as good as an average sound bar, though will pale in comparison to high-end sound bars. Still, these have the potential for a lot more separation, as you can put the two speakers anywhere in the room.

This makes for an amazing home theater experience in virtually any room. They appear to connect over ad hoc WiFi networks and the reliability is good, though it will occasionally drop the left or right channel (or both).

Generally, it either snaps out of it in a minute or two or pausing and then playing or switching inputs or asking one of the speakers a question or whatever seems to make it reconnect. It’s mildly annoying, but have never had to stoop to unplugging anything to get around it. Can always switch back to the TV speakers in the Home Theater settings in a pinch, but that hasn’t been necessary here, at least not yet.

And, as expected, the speakers play music on demand. Unexpectedly, the cover art, lyrics, playback controls, etc. are displayed on the TV. That’s a nice feature.

It also integrated with my Ring cameras effortlessly, showing them in the PiP when people are detected. I think that’s the the threshold anyway (i.e. not just for motion). May be a Ring setting that controls this, but happy with the way it is working; though beware, Ring cameras sometimes fail to identify people.

And speaking of the remote. The redesigned button layout is really stupid. The old layout was much easier to find the right buttons with your thumb. The new one is all uniform rows and columns of same-sized buttons. Maybe they thought that looked “cleaner”, but the ergonomics have taken a huge step backwards. Also wish they’d lose the dedicated buttons for Disney+, Hulu, etc. It’s advertising and only convenient for those who subscribe to the sponsors’ services.

Still, couldn’t be happier at this price point. Picture looks great to me, though surely pales when compared to sets that cost twice as much. And, as expected, built-in speakers are not great, but soundbar support is rumored to be very good with this model (unlike some previous Amazon-branded TVs that I’ve owned).

Hopefully it will last. I still use the other two I bought three years ago. And hopefully they’ll fix the stupid Alexa bug that prevents turning it on and off by name. (!) Yes, “Turn on Den TV” responds with “Den TV doesn’t support that”. (!!) Oddly enough, this “trick” works fine with the older models, though one of them will go into a “coma” once it is off more than a few minutes, foiling all attempts at automation until the remote is used to turn it back on (defeating the whole purpose). That happened about a year in and they never fixed it, no matter how much feedback I sent. The best advice they could offer was to factory reset the thing. 🙁

Workaround for this new one is “Turn on Fire TV”, which is ridiculous and will only work with the linked smart speaker. Support was no real help, but supposedly they escalated the problem. I’ve heard that before, so won’t hold my breath. But at least it stays responsive in standby mode. For now anyway. 🙂

UPDATE: Support indicated that the reason I am having problems with “Turn on Den TV” is that I had the Echo Dot linked to another TV previously. Yes, I did and I unlinked that one and linked Den TV. No idea what I was supposed to do differently, but sure seems like a bug.

NBD, as I generally just tell it what I want to watch, rather than telling it to turn on. Still would be nice if I could turn it on and off from the other speakers in the house, as I can do with the other two TVs. No idea whether this bug will prevent using routines to turn the den TV on and off, as I haven’t tried that yet. They work with the others, except the one that goes into a coma.

I originally got the 43 inch it was a Black Friday deal so I jumped on it but it was great I moved in my own apartment so I got something I bit bigger it’s really nice as much as they take it really confusing that it like the thing it was out the delivery in Rochester US AMAZON JUST HAS A LOT OF BUGS RIGHT NOW I DON’T KNOW WHY but for the people that they complain saying it wasn’t a great TV it actually is and the person that recorded the video who said they just moved it from one room to another I definitely could tell a kid recorded that video and when you move something you have to be very careful and I could tell it was probably a kid who moved it and then wrote that review because the way the video was I could tell a kid probably moved it and done it and then like I said posted that one thing I know is I don’t go off the review on here because a lot of people just are lazy and don’t want to take the time to make sure something looks good and everything else so I go based off of approaches when I purchase it and if I have a problem then I will live here I don’t go off at any reviews on here because some people just like so don’t look at the reviews if you were to buy this thing go based off of your point of view buy it see how it is and if you don’t like it return it that’s why they have a return don’t go through the reviews because I worked at the reviews and I didn’t really listen to them because I wanted to see it from my own point of view so it is stuff we recommended beautiful TV great volume and in the near future go a little bit bigger but it’s nice

Needs better instruction booklet, says power button is bottom center screen but doesn’t tell you it is behind the power light so was difficult to find it you hadn’t looked at bottom of television. Remote didn’t work and had to call customer support who were very nice but took an hour and a half because they went through their checklist even though I said it was the remote. Finally reset the remote which if the instructions on how to do this was included in the instruction booklet would have saved a lot of grief and time. Once those issues were behind me the tv itself is very nice. Much easier for someone who is familiar with using a firestick than for someone who is not, as the controller is basically the same but very different than a typical television but quick and easy to learn. Since I already have a firestick prime account at Amazon set up was simple. Good color, good sound works well. I do like it.
