My son wanted something in room to play music. Since kids these days don’t use cd’s or tapes like us older folks did, this was a nice compromise. This way I didn’t have to get him a phone or ipod (do they still use those too?) It’s nice because he can set his own alarms and listen to music in his room. I like that I can send him a message through the alexa and just have it go to his room. Technology is neat…lol

My Apple TV kept turning off in the middle of the day and I couldn’t figure out why. After getting frustrated that my dogs kept being left in a silent home, I decided to buy an Echo Dot, for the radio option. Next thing you know, I’m buying smart lights, plugs, thermostat, locks, and a Fire Stick! I think it’s so neat how I can say, “Alexa, good night” and it’ll lock my door, turn my A/C down, turn off all the lights and plugs, and TV, in one go.
She lets me know if my commute to work will have traffic. I can set timers for dinner, because I’m famous for thinking to set timers, and forgetting. Now my thoughts can become words and someone else does it for me.
I’m sure my bedroom will have an Alexa product soon, so I can get the fancy smart light going in there.

Easy set up, even for non-techy me. Great sound. I wanted it for white noise in my bedroom and it sure delivers. In fact, Alexa has a plethora of sounds to choose from. I wanted the sound of rain but the accompanying thunder scared my dog so I settled on “white noise”. Now we both sleep like babies all night!
My only problem has been that after asking Alexa to turn off the clock light during the night, now she says she doesn’t understand when I ask her to turn the clock light on. Not a biggie, I just check my phone.
Highly recommend this Echo Dot.

I bought this smaller version for my niece as she is off to college. She was so excited At the high quality of the sound coming out of this. She especially liked clock and the artist display of the music being played and the clock. I talked to her recently about her first month at college. She said her and her roommate are having so much fun with this in their college dorm room for both entertainment and educational purposes. She also utilize the alarm to wake her up to go to class in the morning 🙂 it’s just a great product.

*UPDATE*
After spending an hour on the phone with Amazon Customer Service, they couldn’t identify the issue. I disabled/re-enabled the built in Echo eero extender from my eero app a couple of times and called it a night. I checked my eero app around 2AM (yes, I checked it when i woke up in the middle of the night 😂) and the Echo eero extender was working. Frustrating experience, but glad it’s working. The most frustrating part is eero and Amazon pointing the finger at each other. Which, I suppose, is typical in tech. It doesn’t have to be that way. Maybe instead od wasting hours between the two, they could just get on a 3 way call and work together. What a concept.
The main eero device is in the basement and the Echo device is upstairs in our bedroom. My download speed went from 150-200 Mbps to just shy of 500 Mbps. So, it’s not only working, it’s working well.

I purchased this device specifically for the built in eero extender. Fast forward 6 moths later, we finally purchased the eero mesh network devices. The eero can’t see the Echo Dot built in eero extender. Both Amazon products. Neither eero or Amazon will accept responsibility. Do yourself a favor, purchase these type of expensive electronic devices from a real store. DO NOT BUY THE EERO OR ECHO WITH BUILT IN EERO EXTENDER. Amazon does NOT stand by their products. eero (owned by Amazon) and Amazon just point fingers at each other. The Echo device on my account states that it is eligible for return until April of 2024, but nothing I click works. Money down the drain.

I purchased the Echo Dot 5th Gen with Clock as a companion to my Cube. Having it closer by in the bedroom is nice for sound and the sound quality is superb. Having it on the Night Stand also makes it much better for phone calls. The clock dims automatically as you desire and the alarm so easily set by voice instead of holding buttons is great…..the alarm itself is enough to wake you without blasting you out of bed. It worked so well. I purchased another to use with a monitor for the computer.

The Echo Dot (5th Gen, 2022 release) with clock was an excellent purchase.
We needed an additional Echo with my daughter bringing hers to school so picked up this one for my son. He really likes having the clock on the Echo. His room tends to be the hottest of our bedrooms upstairs in the summer. I liked the ability to ask Alexa no matter where I am what’s the temperature of his room so I can turn on the A/C if needed. I didn’t even realize it had this ability. It’s also a great feature if you have a cabin or just want to monitor the indoor temperature without purchasing another sensor.
The Echo Dot (5th Gen, 2022 release) with clock does everything you need your Echo smart speaker to do and expect from Alexa. It sounds great, has good bass for a speaker of this size and with the clock and additional features like the ability to monitor the room temperature it’s a win win.

This device was easy to setup. It powered on and the app on my phone immediately saw the device and activated it.
It’s for our teenager. It’s everything he’s ever wanted :-D. It’s our third Alexa device. He uses it to play music and drop in on his cousin.
I’m looking for an alarm clock feature. It doesn’t seem to be built in like it is on the Kids Echo. Maybe just a skill to install.
I like the clock. Our teen is too cool to say if he likes it or not. Pfffsh. Whatever dude.

We recently changed internet providers and couldn’t get our more than 5-year old Alexa to work. No matter what we tried or how many times we You Tubed it, she didn’t want to connect! Decided it was time for an upgrade and we are so glad that happened. Our new Alexia is a small round sphere that once plugged it, immediately connected! It works perfectly! It was reasonably priced and with Amazon Prime, it was delivered the same day that I ordered it! Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
