I have one of these for myself and really like it. Great features, works well, long battery life. I can not really say any negative things about it. Because of my constant use of this type of unit and the quality and usefulness of it, I bought my daughter in law one. It was an update for her and she loves it. It has more features than her old out dated one. It is faster and more efficient. She is so glad to have to have this updated larger unit. It was as easy to connect to her account, even though it was gift.

This tablet is great easy to use. Most of the controls are easy to find. Connects to amazon in a blink of the eye so I can order new kindle books. Love the Kindle challenges. The best thing is my kindle books are stored to the cloud. If something happens to the Fire tablet, I can just reload them! (I know I had it happen.) I bought one for my sister too. This summer on Prime days!!! What a Deal two for less than the price of one! However, the one problem is, If you add a memory card you are unable to remove it with the stored data intact This feature while protecting Amazon is annoying to the consumer. —————- J

This tablet is exactly what I was looking for. A cheap tablet that still feels premium. The plastic on the back has a textured feel to it that feels great and I’m not scared to scratch or break it. It’s very light which means I get to read in bed longer without my arm getting too tired. I only use a tablet for videos, books, and MAYBE some small games. I have a laptop for work so I don’t need crazy computing speed. This does entertainment fast and pretty. The display is great and the speakers are pretty good if I don’t have my headphones with me. Storage doesn’t matter to me really 32gb is fine for streaming apps and stuff, if you need more spend $20 and get a 128gb card to slap in there (goes up to a terabyte). Usb-c is pretty much the reason I bought this, the fire 7hd I had was micro USB and it was awful trying to find one. If you are looking for a cheap tablet there is no other option. Honestly I would still buy this over a Samsung tablet. iPads are different, but also aren’t android so this really is the way to go.

I purchased this two years ago (black Friday deal $85) to replace a similarly priced tablet that was very slow. I’m very p!eased with this. It’s plenty fast. I installed Google Play so it’s effectively an Android tablet. I purchased one with lock screen ads because I’m cheap but find them useful. I read a lot and have selected a couple of Kindle books based on the ads. The camera isn’t great but I take pictures with my phone. The speaker quality is more than adequate.

I am so relieved that when a Kindle dies it is so easy to order another one. The size for this one is great for working jig saw puzzles with.
The only problem are all the ads for other Amazon games that interrupt my games to show me several ads and hold me hostage. Such a waste of time! I quit using my longtime favorite jig saw puzzle because I spent more time waiting for the ads to allow me to return to my puzzle than I spent with my puzzle. I miss that puzzle. I could go on about the game ads but it’s too frustrating to do so.

Update – The Music app tricked me into a free 30 day trial. I cancelled immediately since I was tricked into it and never wanted it. Now AMAZON is billing me $10.81 a month for the the Music service I cancelled In early September and that did not Bill me in Sept but is billing me in October. THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT AMAZON TO FIX THIS! Having to file fraud charges with my CC company! An hour of my life wasted by AMAZON Music. AND I CAN”T Even remove the Music App to avoid repeats.
I am no longer recommending FIre Products since their apps engage in fraud.

Battery life and speed were a massive step up from the RCA Viking tablets I was replacing.
Have some patience on the pricing and you can score big time.
The first 2 were ‘refurb’ and worked perfectly.
Warning – these are not straight up Android tablets. They are primarily a show case for Amazon/Kindle.
Looking for a good/affordable Kindle reader with some surfing? Fabulous out of the box
Need more? Not a problem, just google “add play store to fire tablet” and follow the instructions. And you will be most of the way to full Android.

I purchased this tablet after my older Chromebook failed to boot up and restore it’s op system. I wanted another portable computer and never owned a tablet. This one seemed to be an amazing value with mostly good reviews. As it was 1/3 off when I got mine, purchasing it was a no-brainer. I use it mostly for email and web browsing. It offers many features for free and paid entertainment. It was very easy to set up, adjust and use. It boots and runs fast, even on my slow network. Ads are only on the first screen you swipe to get the main screen, so this is not an issue for me. The display is good, videos are smooth and the split screen a welcome feature. The sound is good, considering the small speaker size. Battery life is very good as well. I have used it to take a photo of paperwork and it did this well. It has a built in Alexa that can be turned off, as desired.
It behaves somewhat like my android phone instead of my Windows 10 system or Chromebook. For example, I can only see one page of emails at a time vs scrolling through them all. I have to go into my address book for email contacts vs typing them. I can’t see how many emails are in each folder or delete trash with one click. This may be my mail provider and work ok with others. When viewing a playlist on Youtube it goes back to the top of the list after viewing a video instead of remembering the last viewed on the list. Maybe a browser issue, not sure. I also can’t mirror the screen to my TV as I did with my CB (and I hear the older Fire tablets). To do this, it may have to be done wirelessly. This is not a big loss for me, at this time. I have some issues with the Silk browser, but can live with them. I prefer a keyboard and that is an option I may buy if I don’t get used to the virtual KB. You can,set it up as a split keyboard that helps a lot. Nothing is perfect but this tablet meets or exceeds my needs. It is a fantastic value that I would purchase again and recommend. It should offer even more for a prime member and video streamer.

I purchased this during prime deal days, got it for the sole purpose to screen mirror to my TV to watch movies. Well it doesn’t screen mirror (NOTE: There is no option to screen cast/mirror in its settings) to a Vizio, which I did not know prior to purchasing. I purchased a dongle that did not work. Upon research I found a video that showed a product called a m i r a p l u g HDMI cable, I downloaded an app and hooked up to the tablet and Voilà I’m able to cast my tablet to the tv. Overall I’m happy with the tablet being that it’s up to date with its OS, my last one was an old Galaxy Tab E, just not a fan of the extra stuff I had to purchase in order to mirror my screen to my tv.

This is the second Amazon Fire 10 tablet I’m using, the first one had its battery die after several years.

To replace my first FIre 10 I purchased, off Amazon, a quad-core 10-inch unit. Slow, slow, slow, and construction quality was only OK. I returned that and ordered, again off Amazon, a popularly-rated octo-core 6MB 10-inch Android 12 unit. It came in with Android 11 but then auto-updated to Android 12, which is where the trouble started. The launcher, Quickstep (a search of that should help you find the unit in question) plus YouTube kept crashing with on-screen error messages. There is no fix from the manufacturer. Essentially dead unit, also returned.

So, back to the Amazon Fire 10. It is the only mid-tier, mid-priced tablet that is actually worth the money you’ll pay for it. Yes yes, it is a bit more expensive than the no-name direct-from-importer units but this one ACTUALLY WORKS AS EXPECTED. Not the fastest but not the slowest, reliable quality that will last until the hardware fails somehow.

I should have saved myself the headache and just stuck with the Fire 10.
